Which is correct:
1) John is the best to do this job.
2) John is the best at doing this job.
I think there is a difference in their meanings. I think '1' implies that he is not doing it yet and we are thinking of hiring him (or something of the sort), but in '2' he is doing it or at least has done it and we are just stating that he is the best at it.
