The best..?

Hi everyone.

Could you tell me whether there is an implicit "carpenter" after "the best" in the following sentence?

He is the best(carpenter) of all the carpenters in the room.

Thanks!

Probably, yes. However, if the rest of the text is clearly talking about some other quality or ability, then that might be implied instead.
