Hi,

There are several English-French dictionaries in this bookcase. Take the one that you think is (the) best.

Could you please comment on the use of the definite article before BEST (other superlatives) in this example (similar context)?

Either version (with or without THE) would be ok both in spoken in written English? Perhaps there are some "nuances" here?

No nuances. In one case, 'best' is a pronoun and in the other it is a predicate adjective: two ways of saying the same thing.
