The bar chart shows the literacy rate for both male and females in seven regions in 2011 consequently that the horizontal axis lists the regions and the vertical axis shows the percentage. Overall, it can be seen that the rate literacy of men and women was always equal or slightly higher than the rate of gender.
Only two of the investigated regions include Central Asia and Central/ Eastern Europe, have the same literacy rate for men and women, as well as the highest percentage around 100%. In contrast, Sub-Saharan Africa has the lowest literacy rates.
For other regions, the portion of literate men was higher than women. This difference between men and women’s literacy rate was maximum for the south and west area which about 80 percent of men are able to read and write, but only 60 percent of woman. Overall, the difference between the most and least literate is about 30% for men and 40% for women
In conclusion, the literacy rate of males is higher than females in most religions
