Among women, 22% in the 18-24 year group suffered from poverty in and a slightly lower percentage - 21% - people aged under 5 suffered from poverty. Approximately 17% and 16% of women suffered from poverty in the 5-17 year group and in the 25-34 year group respectively. While 15% of women in the 75 years or older and 12% in the 35-44 year group suffered from poverty, less than 12% of women in the 60-64 year group suffered from poverty. Finally, females in other groups totaled around 10%.
In contrast, among men, around 15% of men in the 18-24 year group suffered from poverty. The groups with the highest figures were in the under 5-year group and the 5-17 year group, with 21% and 16% respectively. There were followed by the 25-34 year group and the 60-64 year group which all had figures around 10%. About 8% of males in other groups suffered from poverty.
