The bar chart gives the number of both sexes participating in four different evening courses at an adult education Centre in 2009 and the pie chart shows information about the rate of participant’s ages in these courses.

Overall, there were more women participating in evening classes than men with the exception of those in Sculpture class. It is also noticeable that the highest rate of participant’s ages was 50 or over.

It is clear to see from the bar chart that the numbers of women in Drama and Language class were twice as high as this number of men, specially 20 women compared to 10 men in the former while 40 women compared to only 20 men in the latter. The number of people attending the painting class was 30 women, followed by 25 men. By contrast, 10 male students taking part in Sculpture class while 5 female students attending in this class.

From the pie chart, we can see that the percentage of participants who aged 50 or over was highest, at 42%, while these percentages of 40-49,30-39 and 20-29 age group were lower, at 26%, 16% and 11% respectively. By contrast, the rate of aged under 20 was lowest, at only 5%.
