The author use irony and maths in the passage!

I followed its tips and improved a lot in reading (6.5>8) and writing (6>7.5).

6 cant be greater than 7.5 so its a irony or juxtaposition, right?

For example, writing (6>7.5) Does this mean my mark for writing improved from 6 to 7.5?

No, it can't. This is just the writer's way of symbolizing that the improvement was from 6.5 to 8 in reading and from 6 to 7.5 in writing, where the numbers are some sort of scores.

I can't say I would recommend this way of writing it, but that's what it means.

Irony and juxtaposition

Hi Mosja,

I think you need to review what irony and juxtaposition mean.

They seem like two separate topics to me.
