The Audition

This afternoon Bravo reran their show about the 100 scariest movies of all time. One of the movies they discussed was "The Audition."

It's a Japanese movie about this woman who goes up for a movie role. I didn't follow the story synopsis exactly. Mostly, the talking heads, who were veteran horror connoisseurs, went on and on about how much this movie creeped them out.
They showed this scene where the woman who wants the movie role sits in her apartment waiting to get a call back from the director. The phone rings, and this canvas bag lying on the floor by the phone begins writhing frantically.
The talking heads reviewing the film tell what the woman has done to the man in the bag. The things she's cut off of his body, and the things she's stuck in it. The clips showed the woman preparing a hypodermic needle, grabbing the man's tongue with her fingers. A talking head described how things started to go bad for him as a viewer when the woman onscreen vomited into a bowl and then fed it to the man she was torturing.
At that point I decided to go to the bathroom.
I couldn't even deal with people *talking about the movie and showing clips.* Anybody make it through the whole film?

Miike makes about 4 films a year, and they are all extreme movies. He finds the buttons and pushed them.

Like Bill I actually agree that's a pretty solid list, although I have to question the ranking. Keep in mind that the list is of the scariest MOMENTS
