The articles as an adjective?

My teacher told me that the three articles a,an, and the are also considered adjectives . Now I'm confuse in answering my assignment, I need to identify the the function of each word in a sentence. In this phrase, "a bright glow" is "a" and "bright" are both adjectives?

I would call them articles or determiners. I don't know of ny modern grammarian who thinks of them as adjectives.
