Could you tell me please if these corrections are right?

My friends live in a small town. It's a new town. The/- streets in the/- town are broad and straight.

There are the/- beautiful buildings in them. The town is very green, and so the/- air is fresh. There are the/- beautiful parks and gardens in the town. The/- people like to go there after work. In the evening you can hear the sounds of the/- music from the/- parks. There are schools, libraries, a hospital,a theatre, cinemas, policlinics and kindergartens in the town.(Is it true that 'the' shoudn't be used before the word 'town'?) (Can 'the' be omitted before some of those words in plural?)

3.What is the/a date today?

4.The third lesson today is a/the lesson of English.

5.I go to the bathroom, turn on the/- water and wash the face.

6.There will be the/- parents meeting on the tenth of January.(Is parents' also right?)

7.My mother goes to the/a Institute and father goes to the/a policlinic.(They work there)
