Are my sentences correct?

1) The article is about unconscious competence which the passage defines as mastering a task so that it becomes second nature.
2) The article is about unconscious competence which the passage defines as when a person masters a task, it becomes second nature.
3) The article is about chemical reactions which the passage defines as when two substances react with each other and form a new compound.
