I'm having some problems with the "the" article usage. Which one is correct or are they both? Thanks for your replies.

Did you correctly use the singular verb here? Is that allowed because one person assumes the both positions?

you can't use the article with possessives that way... I've never heard anyone say "The Martin's house" or "The Lee's cat", it's just "Martin's house" or "Lee's cat", for the same reason you don't say "the my car". Those examples sound really odd to me...

GoodmanMore often than not,, if we pay attention, we'll find that every "the" used in any given written materials does in fact associate to a specified or understood noun. Keep in mind, not all the "the" application are explainable.
