The analyses of a text #5

The narrator recalls his adolescence.
He talks to Agnes about her father's problems whose father Mr. Wickfield is the master the house where he boarded, a lawyer and his grand-aunt's friend when he approached the room.
Uriah Heep is the only clerk for Mr. Wickfield.

............................
He was in good spirits and looked well, and we dined together cheerfully. He talked of the time that had glided away since I first dined with him, and the change that had stolen imperceptibly upon myself and Agnes. He sometimes felt that he was changed too, he said, and not for the better, as we were, but let that pass?and he drank his wine. He talked of Uriah Heep, and of the flight of years over his red head (though the mention of its colour is mine as I write), and spoke of Uriah's time being out within a week withing a week or two, and of its seeming to have begun but yesterday.
[David Copperfield by Charles Dickens]
