The amount of something

You have a printer toner cartridge, which usually contains small particles in it. The more you use it, the more particle decrease. The cartridge now has about 50% of particles in it.
What would you usually say this result?
'The amount of toner particles left in a cartridge'? lol

Top answer

We don't talk about particles at all; they are too small for consideration, so the concept is non-native there. There is not much toner left in the cartridge.
