I thought maybe I had misunderstood full marks = A+, not 100%, perfect, etc.

Universities in Canada use 100 system accompanied by A, B, C, etc., to describe academic performance.
It seems to me that 100 out of 100 is THE perfect score. But even A+ might not be referred as a perfect score since A+ could mean that guy got 95 or more out of 100.
Shall I adjust this feeling? Thanks.

A+ does not mean your essay is perfect. It means it is excellent.

A score of 100 marks out of 100 is not only excellent but perfect.
Think of it this way. If you get 95 marks, you lost 5 marks due to mistakes. That's
