0 I am guessing that while a siren is an alert, an alert need not be a siren. " 02br 00 Our air raid/tornado warning siren is tested weekly, and after it a recorded voice booms out a more or less unintelligible message about the test, which I am only able to understand bits of if I happen to be in our neighborhood park, where the sound carries nicely across the football field. I suppose this message is, or would be, part of the alert, along with the siren.
