Hello,

I have a son who is 4, 5 years old. How should I write and read it correctly?

My son is four and half? or My son is four and half years old?

What is usual?

Thank you Mowgli

Both are correct, but it's "four and a half year old" (year in the singular, because here it's used as an adjective). The first way of saying it being shorter, I think it's more commonly used.

Wrong. You say either "this kid is four and a half years old" or this is a "four and a half year old kid" (no s).

MowgliMy son is four and half?

Dear Mowgli,

You must insert an article. «My son is four and a half.» Then it is correct.

Kind regards,
