Are both these sentences correct:

1) He gave me some advice, and the advice was for me to focus on my goals, not waste time, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

2) He gave me some advice, and the advice was that I should focus on my goals, not waste time, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
