The adj & the comma

Hi All,

Question: Does the comma in the sentence change the meaning of the sentence?

All small boys, and girls report to the gym.

All small boys and girls report to the gym.

Does "small" refer to both the boys and the girls in both sentences?

Thank you,
Joni

If it were grammatical, it would change the meaning. In writing sentences like this in real-life situations, it's best to write what you mean very clearly. All small boys and girls = all small boys + all small girls.
