The following sentences are what I intend to say with #2. How do I change #2 into a correct passive sentence?

I saw a baby. His mother got the baby to sleep in a crib(The baby was gotten to sleep in a crib by his mother).

Thanks, Mister Micawber. By the way, I have another question. Can I use the possessive case, 'its', for a neuter noun such as 'kid'? For example, how about this sentence, "The kid always leaves its room in a mess?"

Seldom, and certainly not in your example, where 'the' makes it clear that the child is known and therefore the child's ***.
