Could you tell me if "the" is optional before the phrase "English language", please? As in the following sentence:

- This word can be found in (the) English language.

There is an uncountable sense of "language" by which "the" could theoretically be omitted, but this would be very unusual in this sentence. Almost certainly you need "the".
