can i use 'the' before mountains names can i say mount Everest or it will be wrong ?

We just say eg Mount Everest, Mount Kilimanjaro. But in the plural we say eg the Rocky Mountains, We also say eg the Rockies, the Himalayas.. Clive

Don't say 'the Everest'. But you can just say 'Everest',
eg I am going to climb Everest.
