Why did the writer start the article by using the article 'the' in front of 'human heart'? I see that all the time in all kind of articles. Shouldn't it be 'a' since the writer is introducing something?

I'm going to ask a couple of more question that are related to the topic while we're at it.

Imagine that you already know what writer I'm talking about. The following context might be clumsy but well...

Me: The writer is so good and his books are the best!
You: I agree.
Me: (Let's say that a couple of hours later I wanted to introduce another writer. We didn't talk about him before.) - The writer couldn't have done it better.

Should it be 'a' or 'the' here?

The last question. Do we always use 'the' in titles? I hope this isn't a very broad question.

In my opinion, articles are the hardest thing to master in English.

Think about this:
The elephant is the largest land mammal.
An elephant is the largest land mammal.
Elephants are the largest land mammals.

There really is no different - all talk about the general concept of "elephant."
