Hi, "Immigration to UK-guide" or "Immigration to the UK-guide" The hyphen is misplaced here. I'd write 'Guide to Immigration to the UK'. How about USA or the USA or US or the US?

Both the UK and the US have "the" as part of the country name. When used as a noun, the "the" is not optional.

In your examples, "guide" stuck on the end seems odd.

Guide to Immigration to the UK

Guide to Immigration to the US

Oops, sorry. I got distracted and didn't post. Now I"m redundant.

Let's say it's the title of the article:

"Immigration to UK newcomers guide" Is it all right to omit "the" in this case?

or

"Immigration to US newcomers guide"

You wrote: "Guide to Immigration to the UK" If this is the title, why did you use the article "the" then?

thanks

Newcomers Guide to Immigration to the UK

I can't make your word order sound right.

I left in "the" because I don't feel it's optional when you use it as a noun, except perhaps in newspaper headlines

One more question.

What if "Newcomers Guide to Immigration to the UK" was a newspaper headline? Would be fine then to write "Newcomers Guide to Immigration to UK" without "the"?

How about: Newcomers Immigration Guide to the UK, would it sound fine with this word order?

Thank You
