Sometimes we say: I listen to the music
but sometimes we don't use the why?
e.g. I like reading the book my spend time
or

Which one is correct?

"the" is specific, so it needs to be defined further, like this, I listen to the music they play on the radio. In my free time I like to read the books over there on that table. If you don't want to specify "music" or "books", then don't use "the": I like music.
