That'S WhY

A leaf fell down from the tree

It was nearer to the ground and free

The shrewd November wind caught it at last

However it wasn't ready to defend

That's the reason why I cried.

It was raining cats and dogs

But she was standing on the pavement in repose

Hoping for money,waiting for nobody

Selling some daisy, she was trying to survive

That's the reason why I cried cried...

Hello Dj This line sounds a little strange: <However it wasn't ready to defend > – what was the meaning you wanted to convey? In this line, I wonder whether you meant some other flower: <Selling some daisy> It would be unusual to sell daisies in the street; though one might sell chrysanthemums, which are members of the daisy family. See you, MrP

Hi Mr Pedantic,

I wanted to mean that it wasn't ready to defend itself against the strong wind of september..It didn't take precautions to be able to survive..I suppose I was looking through a window that opened to an abstract world as I was writing that poem..Cos in fact it is impossible for a leaf to take precautions

Ah! In that case, 'defend' would need an object ('itself', I suppose).

I'd admire anyone who could sell daisies to the public. But perhaps all it needs is a little clever marketing...
