That's WHAT love is all about

1. This question is simply what is of interest for the guys in Math Department.

2. This question is simply something is of interest for the guys in Math Department.

3. This question is simply something that is of interest for the guys in Math Department.

4. This question simply is of interest for the guys in Math Department

Sentence 1 is the original quote I found. I monkey with it a bit, turn it into sentence 2, 3, 4.

Has the meaning changed in sentence?

Sentence 1 and 2 are structurally identical. So is 2 correct? and why?
