That's a nice thing to say

Boy: Where is the dinner?
Mom: It’s in here.
Boy: In this box?
Mom: Yes, this box is a microwave oven.
Boy: Is it ready yet?
Mom: It'll be ready in just a moment.
Boy: Oh, that's good because you serve delicious food;
you serve the best meals, Frankie.
Mom: Oh, that's a nice thing to say. But you can get an even
better meal in a good restaurant.

--------------------------------------

I have two questions:

1- What does "that's a nice thing to say" mean?

2- What does "get" mean in this sentence?

(But you can get an even better meal in a good restaurant)

Thank you
