Grammar

that/how

Dear members

Bootstrapping is another term for the way "that/how" brain growth leads to new experience.

Can I use 'how' on the above sentence as well?

Thanks in advance.

SSY Jung Can I use 'how' on the above sentence as well? No. Given other patterns like this ( person who, place where, time when ), it seems you should be able to use 'way how', but English does not allow it.

  • It's always "way that", never "way how".
