That year just flew for us


In this video, you'll hear, "... that year just flew for us." Does it mean "... we felt that year passed quickly"?

I would think that it usually would (as in time flies), but not in this context. He meant that they flourished that year, that it was a year of success for them. Everything was going well.

Are these sentences correct? I think it's nothing else than that one can express different moods. There isn't anything on it, through which people can interfere other's life.
