"That" usage

I will right the following examples in hopes that someone can explain why that they are wrong or right, and, please, correct anything, including this, that I have typed.

Example #1:
Before that that was that, there was this.

I realize that there is not a need for the first "that" in the first example, but is it incorrect? (Also, was it incorrect for me to ask a question at the end of a compound sentence that had started as a statement? I might make another thread about this, later.)

Example #2:
I want to know of what that is that.

If anyone has anymore examples regarding the usage of "that", please, post them!

I can kind of decipher what the first sentence you posted means (before a particular example of x was y, there already existed z) but I have no idea what meaning you're trying to convey with the second sentence, so to the extent that the intention of writing is to convey meaning, your second sentence is incorrect. The way you formulated your question is not incorrect. " is a perfectly reasonable thing to say.

I thank you for your quick response!
I apologize for the confusing nature of my two examples, as they were not the best; I was wanting to know of "that" usages but had not better examples.

To make this less confusing, is it okay to use "that" in the following example?

Example: Before that that can be done, this must be done.

Remember that I am wanting to know of "tha

I suppose it's possible but I can't think of any reason to double up on "that" like that.
