That that

Hi again.

I'm a bit confused when it comes to using 'that'.

e.g.

1. I think that(pron) that(conj) you are bright.

2. I think that (conj) you are bright.

3. I think you are bright.

I know that the first option is awkward, but it doesn't appear to be odd in my language.

To be honest I never use it and I doubt I'll ever will, but I'd like to know someone elses opinion.

Whis of these alternatives seems to be the the commonest? Is the first one grammatically incorrect in English?

And another question... Which one do you prefer? "The commonest" or "The most common"? I know that according to the grammar rules it should be "The commonest". However, doesn't it sound... bizarre?

Thanks in advance.

Hi! I'm not a fluent speaker but I think the third is the best, even though the second one is still good but the first one seems to be unclear. I share your opinion with "the most common", I think it sounds better too!

2. I think that (conj) you are bright. -- Fine.
3. I think you are bright. -- Fine.

You can put two "that"s in a row, but then you need to put the conjunction first and the demonstrative adjective o
