That sound about right

I've come across the expression "That sound about right?". Can that be a paraphrase of "Is what I said right?"? Thanks in advance:)

Hi,

It's a shortened form of '(Does) that sound about right?"

Thanks for your reply, Clive!

This is the first time that I've heard the phrasal verb "sound about". Does "sound about right" have the same meaning for "sound right"?

It's not a phrasal verb. 'About' modifies 'right'.

eg (Does that sound) (right)?
