Hi all. I wish to ask for the usage of "that said," and "having done something,"
As far as I am concerned, "that said" is used like an adverb to let the writer further elaborate from the his previosuly mentioned point, whereas "having done something" has the meaning of "after doing something". I have illutrated two examples below to verify my understanding.
For example: 1) Many people watch television not because the tv programmes are interesting, but rather they don't know where they can spend their time. That said, tv programmes may not be as interesting as some parents thought.
2) Having read the book thoroughly, I am confident about the examination.
