that or when

Could you tell me about a usage of "that" and "when" below?

1)It was last Sunday that I met Tom on the beach.

Can I say 2) using "when" instead of "that".

2)It was last Sunday when I met Tom on the beach.

If I say 2), does 2) have a different meaning from 1)?

Thank you!
