That of other shopes/Those of other shops ?

Please see the following sentence.
" Our price is lower than that of other shops."

Can I use "those" meaning prices ? Thank you in advance. If not, could you tell me why ?

No. "That" and "those" are pronouns and must agree in number with their antecedents.

"Our prices are lower than those of other shops" is correct. The underlined words are all plural.

Because I guessed even plural pronouns like those can sometimes correspond with another singular pronouns.Furthermore, there is a conjunction of "than" in the sentence in the above,so I thought the singular noun & verb like our price & is didn't affect what it should be a singular or a plural after the conjunction of "than". But there may be an antecedent somewhere in prior context.

Look at the price on that thing! Our prices are lower than that!

Context can be very important. It frequently gets left out of our examples.
