Is that correct to write- "that is it? you gave up?

with "succeed" is it better to write "make it"? so we probably will not make it? (invading to one sofware in hacking contest)

After five hours in front of the computer, dreams aside and reality aside. That is it? you gave up?
"So, unfortunately yes. A quarter of an hour left, so we probably will not succeed."

It is not easy. The goal is quite complicated.
