Both are common. I generally prefer to avoid "that/so-( adjective )-a-( noun ). It just doesn't sound right to me.

Both are common.
I generally prefer to avoid "that/so-(adjective)-a-(noun). It just doesn't sound right to me. But that doesn't make it wrong.
