That expressions,This expressions???

Please look at the following sentences.

[1]Why did the writer use the expressions?
[2]Why did the writer use those expressions?
[3]Why did the writer use that expressions? ( I'm not sure if it's right in grammar. This "that" means "such"or "like that")
[4]Why did the writer use this expressions? ( "this" means "like this", I'm not sure whether or not it's okay in grammar. Could you confirm it?)

If there is any sentence wrong, couldn't you tell me which is wrong?
Thank you for your answers in advance.

Really thank you so much for your kind answers,Mr.Fivejedjon. In fact, what I want to know eventually is whether or not to use "that/this expressions" because I think I've seen that kind of words on T.V drama or anime. So in any case, I have to use "such" or "those" with a plural noun.Thank you once again,Mr.Fivejedjon.
