Aside from semantics, the sentence above works without 'much':

It is more beautiful.

Then what about this one?

The view was that much more beautiful because the cherry trees were in full bloom.

would it work without 'much'? If not, why not?

So, write a sentence. What you asked works fine, "more" without "much". That can work fine in a phrase as well as a sentence.

That appears to me to be a sentence.

It is not natural English. We cannot say 'that more beautiful'. We can say 'that/so much more beauriful'.
