Hi, I think after that, the remaining sentence also can be in future tense (simple future,...) present tense (present continous, present perfect continous,...) past tense (simple past,...)

For ex:

Don't you know that I am working?

I want you to know that I have been waiting for you.

He is annoucing to everyone that he will leave here tomorrow.
