"when you get to a place with a woman like that it's so beyond anything physical that when I think

back to when I used to run with you and chase all these gorgeous but shallow women... It's kind of

ridiculous and pathetic."

I don't understand why "that"(the underline) was used in the above sentence.

Can anyone tell me why?

"That" and "so that" are grammatically correct conjunctions. For example:

I was so unhappy that I cried myself to sleep.
The car was so old that it fell apart one
