"Thanks" at the end of a sentence?

Is it best to set "thanks" off with a comma when it comes at the end of a sentence? Or is it best to make it its own short sentence?

If you could get it done by tomorrow, that would be great, thanks.

Thanks is short for thank you, which is a sentence on its own. Of course, "thanks" is informal, so it doesn't really matter that much.
