"Thank your for letting them know about tomorrow. I won't message them myself then in that/this case."

Hi all

This is sent as a message on an instant messaging app. I know that "in that case" is the usual phrase but for some reason I felt like typing "in this case" instead. Could you please shed some light on this?

"Thank your for letting them know about tomorrow. I won't message them myself then in that/this case."
