Thank you + to-infinitive

Dear,

I am a Japanese who teaches English. I have come across something I cannot judge by myself when I was marking my students' tests. Can you say "Thank you TO HELP us" instead of "Thank you for helping us?" I know the adjective "grateful" can be followed by a to-infinitive, but in that case, I am not sure. I would appreciate it if you could help me.
