Thank you / Thanks

Hello,

Most people say "thanks" either their audience is singular or plural. But I always say "thank you" to thank a singular audience. Does it sound weird, not-friendly, etc?

Thanks.

"thanks" is a bit more informal than "thank you", that's all. If you like to use "thank you", that's fine, either to a single person or a group of people. To a group, you can also say "thank you all".
