A good roommate should be one who has friendly and cheerful disposition. If people live with cheerful people, they will make you not only adapt to school life easily and avoid alienation but also alleviate your pressure and create a harmonious atmosphere.

Being a university student, I ever lived a roommate having an odd character and grumpy temper. He seldom talked to me or other roommates. He didn’t smile at us.
Sometimes he shown apathetic or hostile attitude toward us, which made me nervous and depressed. At the same time, dormitory was no longer a place where I could male friends and enjoy my life. In other words, the dormitory became a place where I must suffer spiritual torment.

When roommates coming form different backgrounds live together, it is important that roommates have to realize how to respect other people’s habits of life and different opinions. The good roommates should understand how to listen other’s viewpoints and avoid happening confrontation resulting from different opinions. At the same time, he or she put himself or herself in others’ shoes and eschew making harsh voices or creating filthy environment. A good roommate can prevent conflicts from various opinions and habits of life.

A good roommate should be helpful to other people. If roommates couldn’t help each other, the life would be dark, boring and terrible. When I felt sad, my close roommate always served as a sympathetic listener whom I could unburden my emotional problems or troubles.
