Than the Other?

Hi,

Is it okay to say "One slightly larger or smaller than the other."? I'm a little uncomfortable with "than the other" because when you compare two things, if one of them is bigger, the other one ,by definition, is smaller and otherwise. So, isn't "than the other" somewhat redundant? Or maybe can we save "than the other" and omit one side ,ie 'larger' or 'smaller'?
Thank you.
