I read a book and I felt happier (than I was (before?)).

We should walk faster (than we are (now?)).

How do you make it sound better? (If it's grammatical.)

Can you just leave out 'than...'?

I felt happier than I was before.

We should walk faster.

We should walk faster than we are walking now.

michaeltingHow do you make it sound better? Can you just leave out 'than...'?
You can leave out the whole than clause, but not just the word than.
