"-side" is used as a suffix in placenames to mean by the side of a river (or other geographical feature). org/about-us/fire-stations / Usually there would be no hyphen, but "Thamesside" is probably thought to look a bit odd. Sometimes it seems to be written "Thameside" (though there is actually another river called the Thame, so things could get confusing).
